Text

A very nice review (and small interview w/me) of GHOST GEOMETRY.

“Imagine long, sustained notes building up, layered on top of each other, flowing across the floor, slowly lapping up against the walls and flowing back straight at you. Imagine this blocking out everything, deadening all other sounds until you can hear nothing but Ghost Geometry. If you could see sound this would be like watching a viscous liquid slowly filling a space as the sound increased and changed.”

Dirty Knobs - Ghost Geometry cover

Ghost Geometry is the follow-up to 2011’s acclaimed eight hour odyssey Field Recordings from the Edge of Hell. Clocking in at half the time and half the tracks, Ghost Geometry is still massive at seven songs unfurling over four hours and mixed into a single unbroken sprawl. Taking Field Recordings’ trademark sub-harmonic gloom and oppression, Ghost Geometry both refines and focuses its direction. Using techniques both new and old, it is a cloud of expansive, otherworldly architecture exploding into our physical world.

Ghost Geometry is currently available for pre-order for $1. The first 31 minute song on the album, “Rotating Superelipse,” is available now as a free download. The album will be released (only in digital form) May 1st, 2012 and includes and alternate cover image and several wallpapers.
