Photoset

[I made this] Album art for The Surfactants’ album Our Dead Bodies and its two singles.

My wife and I both took turns tying each other up and getting crammed into the steamer trunk while the other took the photo. It was..fun? Design by us both as well.

You can listen to the entire album through the player above and find much more music here. Of all the music I’ve had a hand in making over the past 20 years, this album is the one I’m most proud of. It was a ton of work, but also a ton of fun.

This is the full version of the “cover” art for my album Field Recordings from the Edge of Hell. I took the photo and both my wife and I worked on slight photo-foolery. The “subject” is one of twin gravestones, both marked only “Mary Jane.” You can see more of them here.

Dirty Knobs - Ghost Geometry cover

Ghost Geometry is the follow-up to 2011’s acclaimed eight hour odyssey Field Recordings from the Edge of Hell. Clocking in at half the time and half the tracks, Ghost Geometry is still massive at seven songs unfurling over four hours and mixed into a single unbroken sprawl. Taking Field Recordings’ trademark sub-harmonic gloom and oppression, Ghost Geometry both refines and focuses its direction. Using techniques both new and old, it is a cloud of expansive, otherworldly architecture exploding into our physical world.

Ghost Geometry is currently available for pre-order for $1. The first 31 minute song on the album, “Rotating Superelipse,” is available now as a free download. The album will be released (only in digital form) May 1st, 2012 and includes and alternate cover image and several wallpapers.
